Perla Leyva

Perla is from Toluca, Mexico and graduated from the Autonomous University of Mexico State with a bachelor’s degree in public accounting in 1995. Less than a year later, she moved with her husband and mother to Utah to join her siblings, who had already been living there for years. After taking some time off to raise her children, she was looking to re-enter the workforce and needed a new career path. She ultimately decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a cosmetologist. She graduated from Premier Hair Academy and began working in her mother’s salon.

In 2006, she discovered the art of permanent cosmetics and fell in love with it. Her colleagues recognized her talent and began asking her if she could help them hone in their own technique. In helping her colleagues, she discovered her passion for teaching and founded PL Cosmetic Arts Institute in 2008. The institute allows her to inspire and assist people in achieving their dreams of becoming professionals in the wide range art of permanent cosmetics. She also wants to give practicing estheticians the opportunity to grow their skills set and excel in their careers through continuing education.

Most recently, Perla earned a Master in Micropigmentation Certificate from Nouveau Contour International and was so impressed by the company that she joined their team as a sales representative.

In addition to trainings, the institute also offers networking opportunities with other industry professionals. This allows you to collaborate, seek advice, and gain connections to help you grow your own practice.

For over nine years now, the PL Cosmetic Arts Institute’s instructors ensure that students get the best training available in the industry so they can EXCEL and be SUCCESSFUL.

In addition to classes and certifications, we offer a wide range of services such as; professional permanent makeup and microblading services and supplies, skincare services and products, eyelash and eyebrow extensions, eyelash lifts, makeup artistry classes, space for new graduates to work and grow their clientele before going out on their own, and much more.
